FAQ

For more than 20 years, The March Group has served as a trusted advisor for middle-market clients and as a partner with buyers of all types. We invite you to learn more about how The March Group can be a resource for you.

Q: I want to learn more about a March Group acquisition opportunity that I have seen advertised.
A: To be eligible to receive more details on the opportunity, including the Confidential Business Review, we require that you register as a buyer via our Corporations4Sale.com website and submit a Confidentiality Agreement corresponding to the opportunity of interest.

Q: I know that I have previously registered as a buyer via Corporations4Sale.com, but I cannot remember my username and/or password.
A: If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please visit Corporations4Sale.com. In the lower right corner of the home page, under the “Returning Users” login screen, you will see the “Forgot Password?” link. Clicking this link will take you to a new page where you will be requested to provide the e-mail address under which you have registered. If it matches the e-mail address in our database, your username and new password will be e-mailed you. Once logged in, you can update your password by visiting the “My Profile” tab under “My Account.”

If you receive a message indicating that the provided e-mail address does not match any current users and you have good reason to believe that you are registered, please contact a March Group buyer support representative at 954.282.3384 or support@marchgroup.com. Please tell the support representative that you need to confirm your Corporations4Sale registration.

Q: How do I access the required Confidentiality Agreement?
A: If you are viewing the listing directly from the Corporations4Sale.com site, you will find a link to the required Confidentiality Agreement in the lower, right-hand corner of the listing details page. Please note that you must first be registered and logged in to gain access to the Confidentiality Agreement.

If you receive an e-mail referring you to our Confidentiality Agreement, you should follow the second link to be redirected to the Corporations4Sale.com home page (the first link will take you to the listing details page). If you are already registered, you can login from the home page; if not, you should follow the “Register” link to complete the buyer registration. Once logged in, you will immediately be presented with the Confidentiality Agreement buyer input page.

Q: I receive an error message upon following the provided Confidentiality Agreement link and logging in as a returning user.
A: To be able to access the Confidentiality Agreement via the link provided in the e-mail, the e-mail must have been sent to the address under which you are registered at Corporations4Sale.com. If the two e-mail addresses differ, you will receive an error message. To remedy this error, please contact a March Group buyer support representative at 954.282.3384 or support@marchgroup.com. Please tell the support representative that you received a login error upon following the Confidentiality Agreement link provided in the e-mail.

Q: I have previously completed a March Group Confidentiality Agreement. Do I have to complete another to review a new opportunity?
A:
Yes. Our Confidentiality Agreements are client specific; you will be required to complete a Confidentiality Agreement for each opportunity you wish to pursue.

Q: Why do I have to wait for a response from The March Group after submitting my Confidentiality Agreement?
A:
Upon submitting a Confidentiality Agreement, you should receive e-mail confirmation at the e-mail address indicated in your registration. At the same time, the assigned March Group managing director also receives notification of your request. Before the managing director can release the Confidential Business Review, your request must be reviewed by our client (the seller). While we always attempt to secure client review as quickly as possible, the exact duration of the review process will vary depending upon our client’s schedule. We will once again notify you by e-mail once the client has reached a decision.

Q: How do I confirm the status of my submitted Confidentiality Agreement?
A:
You can always confirm the status of a submitted Confidentiality Agreement by logging in to your Corporations4Sale account and selecting the “Confidentiality Agreements” tab located under “My Account.”

Q: I received an e-mail informing me that I have been approved to see the requested Confidential Business Review. How do I retrieve the CBR document?
A:
To retrieve the Confidential Business Review referenced in the e-mail, login to your Corporations4Sale account, select the “Confidentiality Agreements” tab under “My Account,” and then click the “View” link corresponding to the indicated opportunity. You will be redirected to the CBR Documents/Feedback page where you can access the CBR in PDF format by clicking on the file link.

Q: The Confidential Business Review will not open after clicking the file link.
A:
The Confidential Business Review you are trying to open is a PDF document. You will therefore need to ensure that you have up-to-date PDF viewing software installed on your computer. If you are confident that you have a current PDF viewer installed but still cannot open the document, contact a March Group buyer support representative at 954.282.3384 or support@marchgroup.com. Please tell the support representative that you cannot open the CBR file.

Q: I have just examined the Confidential Business Review. What is the next step?
A:
After you have analyzed the Confidential Business Review, please submit your thoughts on the opportunity via the “Feedback” tool located on the CBR Documents/Feedback page; simply select the statement that most closely matches your assessment of the opportunity and click “Submit.” In addition, you can also directly contact the managing director at the contact information listed on the first page of the CBR or by using the “Contact Request” interface in your Corporations4Sale account.

Q: What is the best way to remain informed of new March Group acquisition opportunities?
A:
We encourage all of our buyers to enroll in The March Group's free Market Alerts service. This very useful service, available to all of our registered buyers, provides an e-mail notification upon addition of an opportunity matching the buyer's specified criteria. To add, modify or delete your personal Market Alerts, login to your Corporations4Sale account and visit the “My Profile” tab under “My Account.”

The March Group also distributes TRANSACTIONS, a monthly newsletter, to our registered buyers. This newsletter may include details on new and featured listings; invitations to special March Group events; details on new buyer tools; and much more. Look for the newsletter e-mail every month under the subject line “The March Group Acquisition Opportunities.” (Please note that you can always opt out of our newsletter distribution by following the link at the bottom of the newsletter e-mail.)

Q: What if my Market Alerts do not seem to be yielding matching opportunities?
A:
Because Market Alerts work best when designed to reference a specific opportunity, we strongly suggest that you design each of your Market Alerts using only one selection from each of the following fields: Industry, Region, State, Revenue and EBITDA. For example, if you were interested in manufacturing and wholesale/distribution companies located in the Mid-Atlantic (MD and DC specifically) that return $4M in annual revenue, you would make four distinct market alerts: (1) Market Alert 1 – Manufacturing|MD|$4M Revenue; (2) Market Alert 2 – Manufacturing|DC|$4M Revenue; (3) Market Alert 3 – Wholesale/Distribution|MD|$4M Revenue; and (4) Market Alert 4 – Wholesale/Distribution|DC|$4M Revenue.

If you are experiencing difficulties creating Marketing Alerts that yield the desired types of opportunities, please contact a March Group buyer support representative at 954.282.3384 or support@marchgroup.com. Please tell the support representative that you would like help with Market Alert design.

Q: What is the price of the company for sale?
A: The March Group does not believe there is a single price appropriate for each of the companies we represent. Rather, each company has a variety of value dimensions depending on the characteristics of the buyer. A buyer who is able to realize business synergies by combining the client company with its own operation, or by eliminating duplicative expenses, may have a different value expectation than a buyer who would operate the business as a stand-alone entity. Furthermore, a buyer with access to lower-cost senior debt may have a different valuation than a buyer who would finance a purchase through higher cost mezzanine financing. The March Group recommends that each prospective buyer evaluate the acquisition opportunity according to its own particular business characteristics and goals, and price the business accordingly.

Q: How do you source your inventory of client companies?
A: The March Group’s inventory of acquisition candidates is developed from a variety of sources, including referrals from satisfied customers, accountants, attorneys, business contacts among our investment bankers and executives, as well as through The March Group's workshops designed for business owners.

Q: Why do I need to complete a “Buyer Registration Form?”
A: Your completion of the “Acquisition Requirement Form” assists The March Group in matching your requirements to our inventory of acquisition candidates. Our inventory of available companies changes frequently, as new companies enter the market and others transactions are completed. Our understanding of the business characteristics, size and location you require will help us match you with existing and future candidates in our inventory. In addition, when presenting a potential acquirer to our clients for review, it is appropriate for us to understand and effectively portray the investment criteria and financial capability of the buyer.

Q: What types of transactions have you completed?
A: Completed transactions include both sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions assignments, recapitalizations, and the raising of debt and equity capital for existing enterprises.

Q: In which industries do you specialize?
A: The March Group does not specialize in any one industry. Rather, the firm focuses on assisting buyers, sellers and investors within the middle market with transactions ranging from $1 million to $100 million. We have completed many deals in the construction, manufacturing, professional services, technical services and wholesale trade sectors. As a company, we present successful and effective business practices and methodologies when representing buyers, sellers and investors in a wide range of middle-market transactions.
